Terms of use
Last updated 26 October 2026. By using Company Tax Helper you agree to these terms. They're short, so please read them.
What this site is
Company Tax Helper is a free tool, run by an individual in the UK. It turns your answers into estimated figures for a UK company's Corporation Tax and Company Tax Return, and gives general guidance. It is not tax, accounting or financial advice, and using it doesn't create a professional relationship with us. We're not HMRC, Companies House or GOV.UK and have no connection with them.
Not advice
Nothing on this site is tax, accounting, legal, investment or financial advice, and it isn't a personal recommendation. We aren't accountants, tax advisers or regulated by any professional body. The salary and dividend planner shows an illustration based on simple assumptions. Decide what's right for you and your company yourself, or with a qualified adviser.
Check before you rely on it
- Results are worked out automatically from what you enter. They can be wrong, out of date or incomplete, and the calculator doesn't cover every situation (see the About page for what's not included).
- Directors are responsible for their company's tax return, accounts and records, and for paying the right tax on time. Check every figure before you submit, and compare it with your filing software or accountant.
- Figures read from uploaded invoices, receipts and bank statements are found automatically and can be wrong or missing, and the category we suggest may not be right for your business. You must check them. Keep your original records: companies must normally keep them for 6 years from the end of the accounting period.
- If you're unsure, ask HMRC or a qualified accountant or tax adviser.
- We never ask for your HMRC, Government Gateway or Companies House login.
Our liability
- The site is provided free and "as is". We don't promise it will always be available, accurate or free of errors.
- As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss or damage arising from using the site or relying on its results. That includes tax, interest, penalties, lost reliefs or adviser fees.
- We aren't liable for business losses, such as lost profit, revenue or opportunity.
- If we are found liable despite this, our total liability to you is limited to £100.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited under the law of England and Wales.
Using the site fairly
- Only upload paperwork you're entitled to use. If you use the site for a client's company, you remain responsible for your work for them.
- Don't misuse the site: no attempts to break it, overload it, copy it wholesale or scrape it with automated tools.
- The site, its design, text and code belong to us. Tax rates and forms are HMRC's and GOV.UK's, used under the Open Government Licence.
Ads and other sites
The site is paid for by ads from Google. We don't control the ads or the sites they link to, and an ad isn't a recommendation from us. Links to other websites, including GOV.UK, are there for convenience, and we're not responsible for their content. See Advertising and cookies for how ads and cookies work.
Changes
We may change the site or these terms at any time. Tax figures are updated when GOV.UK publishes changes. The date at the top shows when these terms last changed.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may also be able to bring proceedings in your local courts.
